Its hygroscopic properties naturally regulate humidity by absorbing and slowly releasing moisture, creating an ideal environment for your pets.

This substrate stimulates natural digging and burrowing behavior, discouraging crickets from hiding. The fir bark is extensively tumbled to smoothen the pieces and remove dust, then heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination and absorb odors.

Directions for Use

1. Spread a 1-2” layer (3-5 cm) of the bark on the terrarium floor.
2. Water or mist the substrate according to the required humidity level.
3. Use an Exo Terra Hygrometer to monitor humidity levels.
4. For increased air humidity, place an Exo Terra terrarium substrate heater underneath the terrarium.
5. Spot clean daily, rinse the substrate in hot water for intermediate cleaning, and replace with new bedding every 8 weeks or as necessary.
